A percentage is a fraction of 100. To find a percentage of a number, divide the percentage by 100 and multiply by the whole. To express one number as a percentage of another, divide the part by the whole and multiply by 100.

How do I calculate a percentage?
Divide the part by the whole, then multiply by 100. For example, 45 out of 60 is (45 ÷ 60) × 100 = 75%.
How do I find X% of a number?
Multiply the number by X and divide by 100. For example, 20% of 80 is (20 × 80) ÷ 100 = 16.
How do I calculate percentage change?
Subtract the old value from the new value, divide by the old value, and multiply by 100. A positive result is an increase; a negative result is a decrease.
What is a percentage point vs a percent?
A percentage point is the arithmetic difference between two percentages. Going from 10% to 15% is a 5-percentage-point increase, but a 50% relative increase.
