Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect
Calculator is a set of calculators and converters that run in your browser. The numbers you type into a calculator are processed on your device and are not sent to us or stored on our servers. We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not sell personal information.
Like most websites, we receive standard technical data when you visit — such as your IP address, browser and device type, referring page and the pages you view — through the analytics and advertising services described below.
2. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. We use them for two purposes: measuring how the site is used, and showing advertising that funds it. Cookies that are not strictly necessary for the site to work are only set after you agree to them. Of our analytics services, Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity set cookies and are blocked until you agree, while Umami does not use cookies at all — see section 4.
3. Advertising
We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google and its partners may use cookies, including the DoubleClick cookie, to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. These third-party vendors use advertising cookies to enable interest-based advertising.
You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info. Google’s handling of data in its advertising products is described in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
4. Analytics
We use three analytics services to understand which calculators and converters are useful and where the site needs improving. They report aggregated, statistical information, and none of them identifies you personally to us.
Google Analytics 4 sets cookies, so it is blocked until you consent: analytics storage is denied by default and is only enabled if you agree (see section 5).
Microsoft Clarity records how pages are used — clicks, scrolling, taps and pointer movement — and produces heatmaps and session replays that show us where a calculator confuses people. It sets first-party cookies, so like Google Analytics 4 it is blocked until you agree, and it stops if you withdraw that consent. Recordings are configured to mask the contents of form fields, and the values you type into a calculator are computed in your browser rather than sent to us. Microsoft’s description of its practices is at privacy.microsoft.com.
Umami is a cookieless, privacy-first analytics service. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, so it cannot recognise you on a later visit, and it does not track you across other websites. It records page views, the page you arrived from, and coarse technical details such as browser, operating system, device type and country. Because it stores nothing on your device and collects no personal information, it runs without waiting for a consent choice and is therefore not controlled by the consent notice. Umami’s own description of its practices is at umami.is/privacy.
5. Your consent choices
We use a Google-certified consent management platform (Google Privacy & Messaging) to collect and record your choices about analytics and advertising cookies. Non-essential cookies are blocked by default, and no cookie-based analytics or advertising is enabled until you actively agree — that covers Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity and Google AdSense. Umami (section 4) sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, so there is no cookie to block and it runs regardless of the choice you make.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by reopening the privacy settings from the consent notice, or by clearing cookies and other site data for this site in your browser. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing that happened before you withdrew it.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal information, to object to processing, and to data portability. To make a request, contact us using the details in section 9. Please note that because we do not hold your calculator inputs, there is usually nothing of yours for us to retrieve from our own systems — we can, however, help you exercise your rights with the analytics and advertising providers named above.
7. Children’s privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Data retention and international transfers
We keep analytics data only as long as it is useful for understanding site usage, and we rely on the retention settings provided by the services described above. Our providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States, under the safeguards those providers have put in place.
9. Contact
Questions about this policy, or requests relating to your personal information, can be sent to calculatorcotz@proton.me. See our contact page for what we can and cannot help with.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change how the site handles data, we will update this page and revise the date shown at the top. Material changes will be reflected in the consent notice before they take effect.
